As a young child, Sonia, the 2nd of 5 children found that 7 people living in a 3 bedroom house required some serious creativity when it came to arranging and organizing the home. She was eager to assist and would constantly initiate rearranging the home decor. So began her love of interior design.
Her father, a successful real estate investor, had more practical ideas regarding her career however, and ignited in her an enthusiasm for his field. In 1987 Sonia earned her real estate license and joined a well-known new tract homes marketing agency. From 1987 to 1992 she was assigned to many prestigious residential developments in Los Angeles County. Her longing to follow in her beloved father's footsteps drove her to consistently rank among the top sales agents in the company. Coincidentally, it was real estate that would lead her back to her passion for interior design.
The interior design division was next door to her sales office and she very quickly be-friended the design team. After offering a few design recommendations, they gave her the opportunity to assist on design projects. Her early work included completion of the decor in the model homes including all aspects of design (customer upgrades, flooring, paint, wallpaper, kitchen and bath cabinetry, countertops, window treatments, lighting, etc.).
Sonia's design style became so admired, that within a short time, her talents were recognized by both the developers and the model home designers, which led to an offer for a permanent position on the interior design team, an offer that she ultimately declined in favor of furthering her education. Upon graduating from Boston University in 1996, she accepted a Public Relations Intern position with the United Nations in Manhattan before returning to Los Angeles to reunite with family and friends in 1997. Back in the Los Angeles area, she was recruited by a well-known real estate office and continued her career in real estate sales. In 1998 she earned her Real Estate Broker's License, launching her own real estate and mortgage company, Signature Realty Group. Simultaneously, she continued to pursue her passion of interior design by accepting and successfully completing many free-lance decorating, remodeling, and home staging projects.
After a fruitful twenty-one year career in Real Estate, she decided to return full-time to her passion of interior design pursuing a degree in Architectural Interior Design, running a successful interior design business, and delighting customers with her vision and designs.
Sonia is married, living in Los Angeles County and continues to serve her clients with her full passion and integrity.
